HARROW & WEALDSTONE

Process
A Pop-Up Installation

Community Project

We designed a ‘pop-up’ installation aiming to distill the architectural process that we undertake with any given project by exhibiting relevant models, drawings and photographs all relating to each step we take. The display leads you through the architectural working process, from initial briefing and concept design through to planning and construction, and eventually the finished building.

The Architectural Process Timeline

The display leads you through the architectural working process, from initial briefing and concept design through to planning and construction, and eventually the finished building.

Take a 'Peep' at the Pop-Up Installation

We designed and installed the exhibition to try and be engaging with the public by creating peepholes that cause intrigue and have a sense of humour about them. From the street you saw very little of the exhibition and it was only once you looked through the peepholes that you saw the models and drawings. We hope it educated people about how buildings are designed.

The 'Start Here' Initiative

The exhibition was in an empty shop on the high street at Wealdstone in Harrow and was part of the “Start Here” initiative run by Meanwhile Space and Harrow Council. Meanwhile Space are a community interest company who take on unused commercial properties and allow people or organisations to use the space free of charge for an allocated amount of time until the location is sold or rented permanently.
