Successful planning approval for a conservation area house in Berkhamsted

Berkhamstead Planning Approval

We have successfully gained planning approval for a significant renovation and extension of a property in Berkhamsted.  The house is within the conservation area and tucked behind the main high street.  The plans propose a side and rear two storey extension, which add two additional bedrooms at first floor and a new open plan kitchen, dining, living space with associated utility and WC spaces at ground floor.

The design seeks to compliment the existing house in forms and materials but with a contemporary twist to the rear elevations.  Brick patterns with protruding headers are utilised, along with expressed lintels.  The interior will step down with the topography and create higher ceilings within the key living spaces.  A new terrace also negotiates the xternal levels further.

We are developing the construction information for this project and hope to be on site in early 2024.
